The Morenci Open Pit Mine is the largest Copper Mine in the USA and one of the largest in the world. it produces over 800 million pounds of copper production annually with a workforce of over 3000 people. This mining area is famous for producing some of the most striking and sought after Azurite mineral specimens in America and the world.

Presented here is one of the best Morenci Azurites we have held. A free standing cabinet size specimen of dozens of deep azure blue Azurite nodules with Malachite. The Azurite forms over the entire specimen and displays exceptionally well from all angles. The condition is excellent and very stable. The size and all round layering of this piece is uncommon along with the vibrant colour and size of the Azurite crystals.
